Gazmet Bardhi: The truth that Edi Rama is hiding about the negotiations

The head of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, reacted after Prime Minister Edi Rama's roundtable, where European integration was discussed.

Bardhi says that in fact, the negotiations have stalled today, and Rama does not say this.

"Edi Rama and the chief negotiator spoke at length today about the negotiations, but nowhere did they mention the big truth: the negotiations have stalled because Edi Rama has chosen to defend corruption.

There is still no decision from the member states to approve the progress of the reforms so far and, without this approval, we cannot close any chapter and no longer realize the ambition to join within the next 4 years, as the Prime Minister has promised.

Today, it was not up to Edi Rama to behave like a director of the Ministry of Agriculture. Nor to hide behind the technical work of the chief negotiator. Or even worse, to leave the responsibility of "clarifying" the member states to three of his ministers.

Edi Rama should have acted like a prime minister and told Albanians why Montenegro is progressing rapidly with membership negotiations, while Albania has remained in the red.

Edi Rama must answer two simple questions:

Is the stalling of negotiations related to the personal protection that Edi Rama gave to Belinda Balluku, delaying and obstructing justice from investigating corruption in his antechamber?

Is the stalling of negotiations related to the prime minister's pressure on justice and his anti-democratic initiatives to prevent justice from reaching the prime minister?

EU membership is not a matter of technical procedures. It is not a matter of reforms on paper. It is a matter of implementing reforms and building trust between the parties. It is certain that trust is not built by obstructing the investigation of corruption with a majority vote in Parliament.

The Belinda Balluku case has completely exposed Edi Rama. When he had to choose Europe, the prime minister, under blackmail, chose to defend himself!

If tomorrow you hear from Edi Rama or his subordinates that the problem is Europe, don't believe them!

"The real problem of Albania is Edi Rama," writes Bardhi.
