The Constitutional Court will today consider the request to repeal the 'house arrest' measure in which the DP leader remained for 11 months and was changed by a decision of the Constitutional Court on November 27, 2024.

This security measure was granted by the GJKKO on December 30, 2023, at the request of SPAK, two months after Berisha refused to comply with the 'obligation to appear before the prosecution'. For this request, SPAK initially sought the authorization of the Assembly.

Judge Marsida Xhaferllari, who requested to resign but the court refused, will also be part of the panel. 

The Constitutional Court dismissed on November 21, 2024, Sali Berisha's appeal to declare the security measure 'obligation to appear', initially issued by the GJKKO, at the request of SPAK, as 'unconstitutional', within the framework of the investigations of the file on the privatization affair of the former 'Partizani' Sports Complex.
