US diplomat meets SP and DP deputies, topics of discussion revealed

US Charge d'Affaires Nancy VanHorn met with the Chairperson of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Public Administration and Human Rights Klotilda Bushka and Deputy Speaker Dhurata Chupi to discuss the legislative priorities of parliament.

An announcement made on the official Facebook page of the US Embassy, they stressed the importance of independent institutions, the critical nature of justice reform in Albania and the vital role of the majority and opposition in promoting a healthy and inclusive democracy.

This meeting comes at a time of turmoil in the Parliamentary Assembly. We recall that this Wednesday, the meetings of the Parliamentary Committees were not normally held after the boycott of the DP deputies, while at "Etika" there were also clashes, where Flamur Noka tore off the microphone, forcing Bushka to close the meeting where it would be discussed the disciplinary measure requested by the SP group for 24 deputies of the DP.
