Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded again to his followers on social media.
A commentator wrote to the head of government on his Facebook page that " the government is investing in luxury and entertainment," while adding that "Albania is becoming for foreigners and for a few Albanians ."
Responding to the citizen, Rama emphasizes that there are thousands of Albanian residents in the country who vacation within Albania.
The head of government adds that Albania was once seen as the black sheep, while today it is a destination for foreigners.
Edi Rama: "Albania for foreigners and for a few Albanians"! Is that true? When these foreigners come here, do they take their food with them or do they eat at the Albanian tables?
Do they come with a bed on their side or do they sleep in Albanian hotels and guesthouses? It's a big surprise when it is said that Albanians don't do tourism.
Do you know, my friend, how many Albanians vacation inside Albania and travel on weekends? I'm talking about Albanians who live in Albania, not those outside.
According to INSTAT, there are 979,456 resident Albanian citizens who have been vacationing in the country's hotels and guesthouses during 2024. Those who have secondary residences are not included.
Before we came to Albania, everyone saw it as a black sheep, and the tourists who came from abroad were overwhelmingly Albanian immigrants and from Kosovo and North Macedonia. Today, not only have these increased, but millions of foreigners have also increased.
I don't know, but political anger makes a person blind and deaf, especially a football fan, while here we all have one flag, the flag of Albania.
The sun is not covered with a sieve, Albanians who fight and work and who see the things achieved through struggle and work, have both the facts and the path forward towards the top of the EU by 2030 clear.
