Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to his followers on social media regarding January 21, as today marks 14 years since the killing of 4 protesters on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard. One commentator wrote to the prime minister that if it were about justice, such a thing would have happened since the moment he became prime minister in 2013.
But the head of government reminds us that justice is not done by the prime minister or the ruling party. He emphasizes that "each passing year not only increases the burden of shame on whoever has to provide the missing justice", while he also had a message for SPAK and the reformed justice. "Do I have things to say? I have so much that I cannot tell you, but I want to remain faithful to my stance of not making comments, wishing and wanting to believe that SPAK will not be with anything else for a long time except for January 21, which is also a clear case as the sun."

To accuse you of justice for January 21st, someone whose name is "Primary in the DP" because of his fear, is both laughable and ridiculous. I do not want to engage in a polemic with anyone who comments here. Let's focus on the essence. A number of other commentators, out of their desire for justice, forget that we live in a system where justice, far from it, is not done by the prime minister, the government, or the party in power. Therefore, I believe it should be very clear that all the claims, criticisms, accusations directed at us for not providing justice for January 21st, are simply misdirected.
But I and we have not stood idly by, but have waged an epochal battle for justice, for its independence from political power, for the creation of conditions for justice to do justice for all of us and for everything. Without the Socialist Party and me at its helm, there would be neither justice reform, nor SPAK, nor any visible change in the path of justice. There may be many things to criticize and unacceptable in the new path of justice, but this is a new path where institutions have our support, and part of this support, incomparable to anything in our region, is definitely the stance of not making comments on specific cases. Even when we may not agree at all with their treatment. So, what can I say today about justice on January 21? Do I have anything to say? I have so much that I cannot tell you, but I want to remain faithful to my stance of not making comments, wishing and wanting to believe that SPAK will not be with anything else for much longer except for January 21st, which is also a case as clear as sunlight. And therefore, each passing year not only adds to the burden of shame on anyone who must provide the missing justice, but also tarnishes the justice reform itself, humiliating the families of the martyrs of January 21st, but an entire people who want justice for January 21st and deserve justice for January 21st because justice for January 21st is justice not simply for an event of yesterday but for the Albania of today and tomorrow.
