Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe has raised concerns about the way compensation for damages caused by fires and natural disasters in agriculture and livestock has been handled.

Through a reaction on Facebook, Braçe emphasizes that, although it was claimed that the funds were transferred to the municipalities, the truth is that the money was allocated only for damages to homes, while farmers and livestock keepers were left without any compensation.

According to him, funds for livestock, fruit growing and means of production have not been included in either the 2025 Normative Act or the 2026 budget, leaving a vital problem for the rural economy and Albanian agriculture in the middle.

ON TUESDAY IN THE #PARLIAMENT, I spoke and demanded:
TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE AUGUST-SEPTEMBER FIRES IN LIVESTOCK AND AGRICULTURE!
Following are the damages caused by the November flood, frost, and January flood in agriculture and livestock.
At that session and over the weekend, I heard it said that municipalities have been given money for the damages caused by the fires in the summer.
THE TRUTH is that municipalities have been given money for the damages caused by the summer fires in the HOUSES!
MONEY FOR THE DAMAGES FROM THE FIRES IN LIVESTOCK-CATTLE AND FRUIT GROWING, HAS NOT BEEN DISTRIBUTED AND HAS NOT BEEN PAID!
In November, in the Economy Committee, I asked the Minister of Agriculture about these damages and the payments for them; He replied that they would be included in the NORMATIVE ACT of the end of the year; he specified that the livestock farmers would be compensated in kind - with livestock according to the type of livestock lost!
But in the committee, during the review of the NORMATIVE ACT of the end of the year, I asked the Minister of Finance about the compensation of livestock farmers and farmers for the damages from the summer fires;
He replied that this money was not in the budget, the Ministry of Agriculture had not requested funds and that a legal basis was needed if it allowed these payments.
OBVIOUSLY, THIS MONEY WAS NOT IN THE ACT OF THE END OF THE YEAR 2025 AND IS NOT IN THE BUDGET OF THE YEAR 2026, WHILE IT WAS APPROVED IN THE MEANWHILE THIS MONEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE NORMATIVE ACT OF 2025!
Now two things;
First, it's great that we pay for the damages of fires in people's homes; shelter is vital; but a house without work, means of production and source of income, I don't know how long it will last; the livestock economy is vital for them!
Meanwhile, their economy makes the national agricultural economy that has been in sharp decline for three years!
Second, the TRUTH left in the middle, doesn't solve anything, it must go to the end, of the people as a public good for them!
