The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during his speech in the Assembly revealed the two main reasons, according to him, that led to the vote to establish the committees. Berisha stated that the first reason is the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations.
He added that they have accepted the recommendations and believe they are important. Berisha added that the territorial reform was an anti-reform and that they will do everything to remove the injustices.
" We voted today to establish these two commissions for two fundamental reasons. First, there is an endless series of OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, which we have accepted and believe are important."
The OSCE/ODIHR has done an extraordinary job and in its latest report definitively condemned the May 11 elections as an ugly electoral farce.
In this context, we feel obligated to them to turn the right orientations and the right recommendations into law, although we declare that with Edi Rama, Albanians will absolutely never vote as free citizens.
This is the truth. Secondly, the territorial reform was an anti-reform, in which the standards of maximum inequality were established. Suffice it to recall here that the Gjirokastra region with 120 thousand inhabitants has 7 units, the Tirana region with over 1 million inhabitants has 4 units.
Of course, we will do everything to remove and cancel these maximum injustices, with the help of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
So, this is the reason why we voted for these two commissions, although with the deepest conviction that with Edi Rama there is no election, with Edi Rama there is no free vote. It is only the decision of the citizens that will return the vote to the Albanians. It is the opposition's effort that will return the vote to the Albanians ", said Berisha.
