Sali Berisha expects the European People's Party to intervene for Albania involved in waves of protests against the government

"Albania in the emergency room... I asked the leaders of the People's Party and those present to exercise all their authority so that the deep crisis that has gripped the country, which is now in the emergency room, is resolved peacefully: the departure of Edi Rama, the creation of a technical government to prepare new elections ," said the leader of the DP.

The leader of the Democratic Party asked the deputies to focus on the citizens' protest that has crossed the 10th day. He condemned Edi Rama's behavior with the protesters and supported their demands.

"They have been raised with fair demands: the resignation of Edi Rama and the annulment of those laws that are a flagrant violation of the country's constitutional laws and the main directives of the European Commission on the environment, on cultural heritage, on nature protection. I denounce with the greatest force Edi Rama's irresponsible attitude towards the protesters and the threats, mockery, insults ," said Berisha.

According to Berisha, at this point an international intervention is needed to help the protesters. " I asked for international support for these protests, assuring the audience and interlocutors that dictators do not make fair decisions," he added.

Sali Berisha called on all his supporters to come to the square in front of the prime minister's office, but gave them one piece of advice: "This time without the party symbols."

According to him, this is the most youthful protest that has taken place in Albania, so political parties should remain in the background. "The leaves should not hinder us from the greatness of the trunk."

However, in his description of the protest, the democratic leader left out one of the essential elements of what is now called the "Flamingo Revolution": the fact that the protest is not directed only against the government, but against the entire traditional political class.

Throughout the ten days of protests, among the most repeated calls were "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "We are the opposition" and "The opposition has been sold out", expressing the distrust of some of the protesters towards both the majority and the parliamentary opposition.

Despite this, Berisha described the movement as "the most important youth protest the country has ever known," an assessment that indirectly acknowledges the scale and civic support that the protest has managed to garner outside of traditional political structures.

Meanwhile, the protests in front of the Prime Minister's Office have entered their 10th day, with organizers insisting that the movement is civic, non-partisan, and independent of traditional political forces, rejecting both government and opposition representation.
