The former Prime Minister Sali Berisha gave a statement to the media, after the meeting with a Audrey Glover, Head of the ODIHR Observer Mission for the May 14 local elections.
Berisha informed that he expressed to Mrs. Glover concerns and problems for a normal electoral process.
Berisha : It was a meeting in which we discussed extensively the electoral process, the violation in our assessment, one by one, of the electoral law and international conventions on free elections. I also informed him about the anti-constitutional coup against the Albanian opposition, the corruption and cooperation of international Albanian corruption to leave the country without an opposition, the shameful failure of these efforts, the determination of the PD to advance the electoral process as it has announced to the Albanians.
I think Mrs. Glover was with us in a meeting, to be informed about the views, facts and developments according to the PD, of these elections in Albania. She was with her team, as you saw. I say that we presented all the issues that we consider very important for a normal election process. That was the whole conversation.
