The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a press conference from the blue headquarters this Monday, spoke about the protest held the day before.
He said that the march was the most dignified, while adding that there will be other protests.
"The citizens of Tirana and all of Albania honored in the most magnificent, most solemn, most dignified way March 22, the first day of democracy, with their powerful demonstration under the conditions of a narco-dictatorship, electoral autocracy or authoritarian dictatorship. Albanians showed yesterday that they are undefeated by this narco-dictatorship. I think that with their protest they represented the revolt, the anger of an entire nation. Never before has the peaceful uprising of Albanians been more powerful than yesterday in the streets of Tirana.
The message is clear, in Albania under the conditions of the autocracy of Edi Rama's rule, there is and cannot be peace and stability. Our battle will only know escalation. It will include all of Albania and will be uninterrupted until the final departure of this criminal organization headed by Edi Rama.
Therefore, I have boundless gratitude for all those tens of thousands of citizens who filled the streets yesterday and "They took to the boulevards of Tirana and protested in a dignified manner. They expressed their anger towards this regime," he said.
Berisha continued with the accusations against the government.
"He has stolen billions and billions of euros and now recently blocked justice. We are convinced that in this way we are interpreters of all Albanians, regardless of their beliefs, but who live with their toil and sweat. So, the battle continues even more powerfully, it will spread, it will know new levels.
There is no more peace and stability for thieves, for Albanian drug traffickers until the return of free voting, the rule of law," he scolded.
Asked if the protests would take place beyond the capital, Berisha confirmed this, but did not provide further details.
