The opposition is holding its next national protest in Tirana today, with the main demands being the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the formation of a technical government, and the holding of free and fair elections.

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has arrived at the blue headquarters. His car drove into the crowd of citizens gathered at the headquarters, who surrounded the leader of the DP.

Together with the citizens, Berisha is expected to start the march towards the Prime Minister's Office.

Today's protest is being held on a symbolic day for the Democrats, linking it to March 22, 1992, the historic date when the Democratic Party won the pluralist elections after the fall of communism. The day chosen for the protest also coincides with the Bektashi community's holiday, Sultan Novruzi.

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, described this rally as the opposition's "largest peaceful uprising" and, through a message on social media, asked citizens to show their strength in the streets and squares of the capital.

For the smooth running of this protest, the State Police has placed around 1,300 officers on standby, and several road closures in the capital have been announced.
