Bardhi from the Parliament: An urgent session should be held for Balluk, you
Gazment Bardhi

The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, at the start of the plenary session in the Assembly, stated that there should be only one issue on the Assembly's Agenda, the inclusion on the agenda of the consideration of SPAK's request for the lifting of the immunity of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, which paves the way for her arrest.

He stated that after the Constitutional Court's decision, there is no longer any obstacle to something like this happening, while accusing the majority of becoming an obstacle to investigations related to corruption.

Bardhi: The Albanian Parliament should have only one item on its agenda that you have been dragging on for 2 months, turning this institution into a lawbreaker. A session should be held to lift the immunity of Belinda Balluku. You postponed the meeting after the Constitutional Court spoke.

You told us that we would wait for the Constitutional Court's decision. For 2 months you filled the heads of Albanians that a deputy prime minister cannot be suspended by the prosecution. After the decision of the Constitutional Court, you said we would wait. For 2 months you have become an obstacle to lifting immunity. This Assembly has failed for 2 months to fulfill its mission on this issue. You are the only country in the world that adopts a law to protect itself.

Balluk's immunity must be lifted urgently, to pave the way for SPAK and for every accused to be equal before the law. It was you who the new justice system will have to do its job. The day you knocked on the door, in Rama's anteroom, then in the courtyard of his house with the AKSH case, you received an unprecedented attack, with active actions to obstruct the prosecution.

Either this Assembly will fight corruption, or you will turn it into a bunker of corruption. Don't provoke the opposition, allow the Assembly to review its own mission in time, to pave the way for an investigation into the allegations that involve ¼ of the state budget.
