The Chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, emphasized in the Assembly that the invitation to join the Peace Board was not made to Prime Minister Edi Rama but to Albania and the Albanian nation.

From the Parliament's rostrum, he emphasized that the Albanian nation, in Albania and Kosovo, has shown that it is in favor of peace and that is why such an invitation has come, so there should be no propaganda from the government. 

Bardhi also recalled Rama's earlier statements against Trump, while adding that they are against the accelerated review of this draft law in violation of the regulations and the Constitution.

"Rama was the only world leader who addressed the US president with the term representing the shame of humanity. A statement that does not suit the relations of Albania and the nation with the US, a statement that jeopardizes the security and relations between the Albanian nation and the US. You came here and spoke about Albania. We do not feel appreciated for the partnership that only Albania has with the US, but proud of the excellent relations that the nation has with the US. That is why the invitation was addressed to Albania and Kosovo.

The US had invited Albania and Kosovo to this board because of the role that our nation has not only in peace in the Balkans but in Europe and beyond and because of the excellent strategic relationship with the US. It cannot be propaganda or mock the US by talking about historical achievements while years ago you called the key man of peace in the world today, the shame of humanity , "said Bardhi.

He stressed that the opposition is not against Albania's participation in the Peace Board, but added that this must be done in respect of the Constitution.

"We have the chance to respect the constitution, to take a week, during this week we ask the president that the agreement enter into force immediately and within a week. Implement the Constitution and we make the agreement effective within 7 days. Why should you violate the regulation," he said.
