The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated today, January 24, that the Blue House fully supports and appreciates the efforts for peace in Gaza by US President Donald Trump.

Asked whether Democrats will vote in favor of Albania's accession to the Peace Board, following the invitation of US President Donald Trump, Berisha said that he has no knowledge and will be informed about this.

"I have no knowledge of this. I will see. I am being informed by you. In principle, we fully support the effort and highly appreciate the effort for peace in Gaza, President Trump's peace plan. I don't know anything more than that," Berisha said.

Given that the government approved Albania's accession to the Peace Board and is now expected to pass it through the Assembly, Berisha said that Rama took this action urgently to avoid protests.

The chief democrat emphasized that Rama remains a narco-dictator, but as long as he is the man representing Albania, then he will receive invitations, like the one Trump made.

"As far as I know, the Peace Board has distributed invitations to many, many countries. President Trump has invited the countries there. In Albania, the chief executive is not the president, he is the ceremonial president. So the invitation belongs to the prime minister. This is my comment. I have no other comment. You may think that this strengthens Edi Rama's international position, absolutely not. Whatever invitation he receives, he remains a narco-dictator, but of course he is the man who represents Albania. As long as he is there, he will receive invitations for Albania," Berisha said.
