The leader of the socialist parliamentary group, Taulant Balla , presented the " Peace Board " in the Parliament, during today's plenary session.

Balla : Today, the Albanian Parliament is called to make a decision with a very special political and historical weight that goes beyond the agenda and is related to the new role of our Albania in the international arena.

The draft law that we have today under review and then up for vote concerns the ratification of the charter of the Peace Board, a new international organization conceived by US President Donald Trump, where the Republic of Albania and its Prime Minister Edi Rama have been invited to be founding members.

A constructive role for our common Albania and marks an unprecedented positive moment where the country is seen as an actor contributing to global solutions for peace. This invitation is not something ordinary. It is not formal. 

US President Trump describes this initiative as a historic and major effort, a new need for peacebuilding towards concrete results to bring peace.

Far from bureaucratic models that have failed. Therefore, colleagues, the Peace Board, according to the charter that we will review today in the European Commission, is the right international organization that aims for the stability that we need to establish peace so that peace everywhere in the world is sustainable, as the American president underlines, always in accordance with international law.
