Renowned lawyer Edmond Petraj has been elected head of the Vlach Party of Albania.
This appointment comes after the resignation of the current Chairman, Valentino Mustaka. The Party of Vlachs of Albania aims to represent the Vlach community, also known as Aromanians, who are believed to be descendants of the Romanized indigenous peoples of the Balkans, thought to come from the Illyrians, the Romanized Thracians, and the Roman colonizers.
Petraj was elected unanimously and emphasized his commitment to advancing the party's cause and mission.

“At the meeting of the Presidency of the Vlach Party of Albania, following the resignation of the current Chairman, Mr. Valentino Mustaka, the Presidency reviewed and discussed the further direction of the party and the worthy representation of our community.
By unanimous vote, the Presidency decided to appoint Mr. Lawyer Edmond Petraj, a figure with experience and dedication to protecting the rights of the Vlach community and strengthening its role in the political and social life of the country, as the head of the Party.
Mr. Petraj expressed his gratitude for the trust given and emphasized his commitment to advancing the cause and mission of the party, working to strengthen the identity, rights and well-being of the Vlach community in Albania.
