Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted tonight in relation to the accusations of the opposition that accuse him of paying the former senior FBI official Charles McGonigal "to harm the Albanian opposition".

"This great mountain, pregnant with fantasy and wickedness, will give birth to less than a mouse. Fortunately, everything is investigated in the USA and the conclusion of the investigation has nothing to do with me or the Albanian government. The money received by the Russians from the DP is not an invention, but a fact also investigated and proven worldwide. Until yesterday Edi Rama and Soros said, today Edi Rama and the senior FBI official say, but both fall to the ground in front of the investigated facts. In this case, the senior FBI official is not accused of any of these things that are being talked about with screams in Albania, but only for conflict of interest in receiving the debt from his Albanian-American friend and not declaring it", says Rama.

Thus, the prime minister adds that "even more ridiculous are the accusations about the involvement of the Russian oligarch in business in Albania, as part of this agent conspiracy of the cinematic type "Fije ge priten".

The Strabag company is the biggest flag of the Austrian economy, which, like the Trema company, has been operating in Albania for decades. To connect a Russian shareholder of these companies (who has recently been excluded from them as an individual under war sanctions) with this tale, which is quite grotesque even without it, is to be in total despair."

According to Rama, "it is known that desperate people do desperate things, and this story is a faithful reflection of the despair of our opposition, which, in addition to having no head, has on its back major issues such as Gërdeci, January 21, or even Russian ties since the time when joined the vote with Putin's party in the Council of Europe against the Kosovo Liberation Army. All these are facts that demand justice, not conspiracy theories, and no conspiracy theory can bury them in oblivion".
