The Central Election Commission (CEC) has clarified how it will deal with the candidate of "Bashke Fitomje", Fredi Beleri, who was arrested for buying and selling votes.

Through a reaction on social networks, the CEC clarifies that Beleri continues to be a candidate and that his name will remain on the ballot.

"In response to the interest of media representatives on the arrest/arrest of the candidate for the mayor of Himara, Dhionisios Alfred Petro Beleri, supported by the coalition "Bashke Fitomje", the Central Election Commission clarifies that in terms of the Electoral Code, as well as the Law no. 138/2015 "On guaranteeing the integrity of persons who are elected, appointed, or exercise public functions", he continues to be a candidate and his name remains on the ballot", writes the CEC.
