Albania, after a month of intense election campaign by political forces, this Saturday is in election silence. The political parties a day ago closed their electoral campaigns for the May 14 local elections for the election of 61 new mayors.

About 140 political subjects are competing in these elections, aiming to take the leadership of the municipal councils in the country's municipalities.

According to data from the CEC, two candidates will compete in 44 municipalities, the candidate of the Socialist Party and the Coalition "Bashke Fitomje", in 14 municipalities there will be 3 candidates, where the candidate of the Democratic Party will also be part of the list, while in Saranda will be 4 candidates.

Meanwhile, preparations will be made today for the material base and their distribution in every voting center that citizens go to the boxes to vote on Sunday.
