Cancellation of the Porto Romano tender, Rama: Ready the quick plan to start construction!

Prime Minister Rama commented again on the issue of the Port of Porto Romano , for which the 400 million euro tender was canceled because the only company in the competition withdrew.

In his podcast " Flasim ", Rama said that this port is strategic, connected to Corridor VIII, which according to him also includes the dry ports of Pristina and Skopje.

He stressed that there is no concern from the allies, the US and the EU, on the contrary, according to him, the project built by Royal Haskoning is on NATO's table and waiting to enter the political filter.

Rama spoke about underground factors related to trafficking and other political factors that do not want this port, but emphasized that the government has a quick plan to begin construction.

"Not everyone loves and welcomes this new port. Factors inside and outside, starting from underground factors related to trafficking, to political and third-party factors outside the borders of Albania, have no way of welcoming it, since at best this is a new power that enters the maritime trade competition of the Mediterranean and at worst it is a factor that participates in the table where the benefit of all maritime commercial activity in this part of the world where we live is distributed. A new port of this size takes Albania to another level on the logistical map of the region and turns it into a country that owns a strategic node in Europe. I want to say that despite the difficulties that the project has encountered, despite the company's withdrawal, we are ready to move on to another, fast and aggressive plan to guarantee the start of the construction of the port," said Rama.
