Democratic Party MP Albana Vokshi raised strong accusations during the plenary session, saying that the opposition was prevented from meeting with international representatives of the Council of Europe who were in Tirana.
"What happened today is a scandalous situation in the relationship between the Albanian Parliament and internationals. Today, representatives of the Council of Europe were in Tirana and the opposition was prevented from meeting with CoE reporters. The opposition members in this delegation were not notified to meet with the members of the international delegation," said Vokshi.
Immediately afterwards, the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, rejected the opposition's claims, calling them untrue.
"These are untruths. Don't raise a storm in a glass. You were welcome, please be accurate. All members were allowed, substitutes were also asked to participate. Everyone was invited by official e-mail and participation was voluntary," Peleshi said.
