Urgently call the police because there was a... spider in the car
Spider in the car

A woman frightened by a large spider in her car called the police in the southwestern German state of Baden-Württemberg.

The 33-year-old woman told the officers that "I urgently need help" and "I can't drive the car any further", according to police reports.

Agents then searched the woman's car in the town of Langenenslingen in the evening for the spider, but found nothing.

"Apparently this was enough to calm the woman down, as she later continued her journey," a police spokesman said.

Arachnophobia is a pathological fear.

Sufferers check their beds several times before going to bed or avoid walks in the woods to avoid unpleasant encounters with eight-legged animals.

Spiders develop symptoms such as sweating, palpitations and high blood pressure.

According to experts, women are affected much more often than men.
