Queen Elizabeth II was the first sovereign to send an email in 1976 with Arpanet, a precursor to the Internet, the military communications network created by the US.
Her being between tradition and modernity then made her "land" on social networks with the profile of the royal family.
On March 26, 1976, Sovereign was at the Royal Signals and Radar Establishment, a telecommunications research center in Malvern, England.
It was British computer scientist Peter Kirstein who created her email account, choosing the username "HME2".
So the Queen sent the first email and this photo captures the historic moment.
The email was supposed to announce the arrival of a new programming language and was titled "A Message from Her Majesty the Queen" and was signed with an "Elizabeth R".
Then, many years later with the advent of social media, Queen Elizabeth continued to embrace technology in her institutional tenure.
At Christmas 2007 she launched the Royal YouTube Channel.
In October 2014, she sent her first tweet during a visit to the Science Museum in London.
