Kanye West's concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan, has been postponed just before the American artist was due to take the stage, as the city faced a massive power outage and bad weather.

The concert was scheduled to take place tonight, but organizers announced its postponement to the following day, citing "security concerns."

The decision came as Almaty was facing power outages. City utilities went on heightened alert due to widespread supply problems.

As a result of the fault, the southern zone of the Unified Energy System of Kazakhstan and the Unified Energy System of Central Asia were disconnected from each other and began to operate in isolation.

According to preliminary data from the operator KEGOC, the outage was caused by a sudden increase in voltage that came from the Central Asian power system.

The situation was further aggravated by bad weather. Heavy rain hit Almaty hours before the concert was scheduled to start.
