Why is Adidas apologizing for the latest ad with Bella Hadid?

The Adidas company has clarified that it will once again see the advertisement with the well-known model Bella Hadid.

The brunette beauty wore a pair of '70s sneakers to honor the 52nd anniversary of the Munich Olympics.

During the 1972 Summer Games, 11 Israeli athletes and a German policeman were killed by a Palestinian militant group.

Adidas apologized for the "inadvertent" reference to the terrorist attack in a statement on Thursday.

"We are aware that links have been made to tragic historical events, although these are completely unintentional, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused," the statement said.

Why is Adidas apologizing for the latest ad with Bella Hadid?

Photos of Hadid, who has been a supporter of the Palestinian cause, wearing the sneakers have been removed from Adidas' social media platforms, but remain on their website.

She is of Palestinian descent, as her father, Mohamed Hadid, was born in Nazareth in 1948, the same year that 750,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes and became refugees in Syria.
