Leonardo DiCaprio has added another award to his long list of achievements: Time magazine has named the actor its 2025 Artist of the Year.
The decision comes after his performance in the action film "One Battle After Another," directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, which has become the director's highest-grossing film.
DiCaprio plays a former revolutionary, weary of life, steeped in paranoia, until his former enemy, played by Sean Penn, returns after 16 years and they clash again.
The actor has been praised for his deep and original portrayal, delivering an interpretation that challenges stereotypes and audience expectations.
"I've thought a lot about how often truly original ideas come up that aren't tied to history, past characters, genres, vampires or ghosts. This movie was a risk for the studio, but what they believe is the power of Paul's storytelling and the originality of his process," DiCaprio said in an interview with Time.

This TIME assessment comes after a season rich in awards for DiCaprio: a Golden Globe nomination, an award from the National Board of Review, the Critics Choice Award and the Desert Palm Achievement Award from the Palm Springs Film Festival, as well as accolades from the Gotham Awards and critics in Los Angeles and New York.
"One Battle After Another" is also competing for Best Picture at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.
TIME magazine will announce its person of the year on Thursday.
