Ermal Meta has told more about his life in Italy and the difficulties he faced as an immigrant in Italy.

The singer-songwriter Ermal Meta has said that his roots are in Albania, despite the fact that he now has a very successful career in Italy.

Ermal Meta: Here are my roots, no matter how far you go, your roots are still there. I have known Albanians who did not want to say they are Albanian. If you have a strong character, you protect your background.

But did Ermal Meta feel the prejudice?

Ermal Meta: I felt it, but I used it as gasoline. Every kind of prejudice has made me strong. When I won Sanremo I was so proud, I couldn't feel anything. For me it was just another good moment and I experienced it for what it was. I am the Albanian singer-songwriter in Italy.

During the conversation in Opinion, Ermal Meta has shown what he misses most from Albania. Singer-songwriter Ermal Meta said that today, compared to when he immigrated to Italy, he seems to see hope now.

Ermal Meta: I often come to Albania. I miss it when I don't hear the Albanian language. When I'm here, I feel complete when I hear them speak Albanian. I returned to Fier a year ago and it had been 18 years since I returned. It had changed a lot, but the feeling didn't leave me good, it's personal. Since the year I left, Albania has changed a lot. When I left, I remember the fact that I don't see hope, now I feel like I see hope. It doesn't seem like a normal place to me, but I like it for that. What strikes me the most is that I have noticed that many people try to appear more than they are.

Ermal Meta also spoke about his book "Tomorrow and Forever".
