Successful German music producer Jack White has died at the age of 85 on Thursday, Berlin police confirmed reports to the Bild and Bunte newspapers.
White, whose real name was Horst Nussbaum, was found dead in his Berlin home on Thursday, according to reports. A police spokesman said it was suspected suicide and that an investigation had been launched, according to zdfheute.de.
Jack White, born in Cologne, is considered one of the most successful music producers in Germany. Stars such as Roberto Blanco, Tony Marshall, Hansi Hinterseer and David Hasselhoff owe their rise to fame to him. White was also the creator of global hits such as "Gloria", "Self Control" and "When the Rain Begins to Fall".
White has often made headlines not only for his music but also for his personal life. At the age of 83, he became a father for the seventh time in 2023. "Rafaella and I cried with joy," White told Bild newspaper after Angelina Melody was born. White and his wife Rafaella, who is 44 years his junior, had been married since 2015.
For White, who has seven children, this was his fourth marriage. There were recent reports that the couple had split. Rafaella Nussbaum told Bunte magazine: "It's a respectful and amicable split." She said they had been living separately under the same roof for several months. Now she wants to move out of their shared home.
