Michelle Trachtenberg, a popular television actress, died from complications of diabetes, according to the New York City medical examiner's office.

Trachtenberg was found dead in February after recently undergoing a liver transplant.

Trachtenberg rose to fame at a young age. Starting her career at the age of three, she appeared in commercials and later starred in the Nickelodeon series “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” and the soap opera “All My Children.” The actress landed her first leading role in the 1996 film “Harriet the Spy,” starring alongside Rosie O'Donnell and J Smith-Cameron.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in 2021, she said: “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity.”

Other projects she starred in include the teen comedy "EuroTrip," as well as Gregg Araki's critically acclaimed drama "Mysterious Skin."

Reflecting on her experience with “Mysterious Skin,” she said, “I was this girl who had done shiny, PG-themed stuff and here’s Gregg Araki, the director of Doom Generation, and we sat down and had a cup of coffee and I said, ‘You’re probably not going to hire me, but this is what I have, this is what I feel like I’m going to risk.’ It was the most exciting experience I’ve ever had as an actress.”
