Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly session in New York on September 24, declared that Kosovo “remains an inseparable part of Serbia” and, as he called it, “the main pillar of his country’s identity, culture and spiritual heritage.”
"For us Serbs, it is not just a piece of land, but the cradle of our spirituality and existence in that country," Vučić said.
He claimed that Serbs in Kosovo live in “dramatic conditions,” continuing to claim that they are denied basic rights. “They are denied the right to life, movement, education and healthcare. They are denied access to their workplace and their property,” the Serbian president said.
Vučić called on international organizations to "take concrete and decisive steps" to stop, as he put it, the violence in Kosovo, emphasizing that "Serbia believes in dialogue under the umbrella of the European Union."
