"Warsaw will disappear within 2-3 days" - Putin's advisor

Former Secretary of the Russian Security Council and current advisor to President Vladimir Putin, Nikolai Patrushev, has threatened Poland with the use of Moscow's entire military potential in the event of an armed conflict.

"If Poland enters the fighting against Russia, our country will use the entire arsenal of forces and means at its disposal, and Warsaw will cease to exist within two or three days," Patrushev declared.

The statement was made in an interview with the Russian newspaper "Arguments and Facts" and was also broadcast by the state-run TASS agency.

Patrushev did not specify what he meant by using “the entire arsenal of forces and means.”

He did not directly refer to nuclear weapons, although Russia possesses one of the largest nuclear arsenals in the world.

The threat came in reaction to statements by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski during the "Yalta European Strategy" conference, held in Kiev on September 12-13.

Sikorski argued that in the event of a Russian attack against NATO, the Alliance would be able to quickly defeat Russian forces.

"If Russia attacked us and we took off the gloves, I think we would defeat Russia pretty quickly," he declared.

The Polish chief diplomat particularly emphasized NATO's air superiority.

According to him, the European countries of the Alliance have about 2,500 military aircraft at their disposal, which gives them a considerable advantage over the Russian air force.

Patrushev called Sikorski's analysis of Russia's military capabilities "amateurish."

He also claimed that Russian forces are not using their full military potential in the war against Ukraine.
