The White House announced that US President Donald Trump had a lengthy phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, immediately following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This development comes just minutes after the Russian state agency TASS reported that during the meeting between Trump and Putin, a possible summit that would include the Ukrainian president was not discussed.
According to the White House, after concluding his conversation with Zelenskyy, Trump also held phone calls with several leaders of NATO member countries.
Details about the content of the conversation between Trump and Zelenskyy have not yet been released, but it comes at a critical moment for the conflict in Ukraine, following the failure to reach a ceasefire agreement during the Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska.
