Russian President Vladimir Putin has received an invitation from the White House to join the "Peace Board," the international initiative proposed by the Trump administration for managing and resolving global conflicts.

"President Putin has received an invitation through diplomatic channels to become a member of this Peace Board ," chief spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during a press conference.

He added that all proposed details are currently being reviewed and hopes to discuss all nuances with the Americans.

According to a draft of the board's charter, the initiative will initially focus on the reconstruction of Gaza, after more than two years of heavy Israeli bombardment, and then expand to address other conflicts globally as a new international peacekeeping body.

The board will be permanently led by Donald Trump.

Invitations have been sent to about 60 countries, but so far only Hungary, under Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a close Trump ally, has confirmed participation. Albania is also among the invitees.

International media have written that to become permanent members, countries must pay $1 billion during the first year of accession.

The UN Security Council authorized a mandate for a “Peace Board” in November, but it would focus solely on the conflict in Gaza. Russia and China abstained from the vote, arguing that the resolution did not provide a clear role for the UN in mediating the conflict.
