Tragedy at a daycare center in the Bronx, New York. A one-year-old child has died of cardiac arrest and three others are hospitalized, as they are suspected of having consumed drugs.

Although police have not yet revealed the cause of death, US media reports that officers found equipment commonly used to manufacture drugs and opioids at the facility.

Recently, the nursery had come under an inspection by the municipal authorities.

The city's health commissioner, Dr. Ashwin Vasan, said that the authorities believe that the children have come into contact "with a toxic substance".

According to the media, the three hospitalized are two 2-year-old boys and an 8-month-old girl. They were rushed to the hospital because they suffered a lethargic state.

The body of the deceased child will undergo an autopsy to determine the exact causes that led to the poisoning that caused his death.
