Ukrainian President Zelensky and his wife Olena gave their first joint interviews to a Western media since the start of the Russian occupation.
Olena, along with her two children aged 9 and 17, fled Kiev to take refuge in a secret location in late February, and appeared just days ago where she attended the funeral of the former Ukrainian president.
During her confession in the interview, the First Lady shows that she was not surprised that her husband has inspired the world with his unwavering leadership and great resistance to Russia.
"Nobody takes my husband, not even the war", was one of Olena's phrases that impressed the journalist.
"Our family is divided, like many other Ukrainian families. He is working hard and for days we only talk on the phone. We have only met a few times during this time and I am still glad we had the opportunity to spend time together. I remember the first night the war broke out. I woke up to the sirens and saw that Volodymyr was not near me. I got up and saw that he was dressed, but not in a suit. I asked him where he was going, but he simply replied "Nisi".
"I can not say that Volodymyr has changed since the beginning of this war. He was a trustworthy man before, and continues to remain. "His view has not changed," said Zelensky's wife.
Olena, a screenwriter by profession, said she was not always the biggest fan of her husband's speeches. "Sometimes he uses a lot of literary tools and sometimes very little."
