Revolts calm down in France

Riots across France following the killing of a North African teenager by police last week continued for a sixth straight night.

In the suburbs of Paris, a 24-year-old firefighter lost his life while trying to put out the many fires set by protesters, also marking casualties.

Violence and flames were once again present in the streets of the Parisian suburb of Nanterre. However, there were fewer cities where there were violent protests again.

Due to the lower number of protesters, the police managed to keep the situation under control, while the number of arrested protesters was 157, many times lower than the previous nights. The army was also involved in suppressing the revolts.

The grandmother of the 17-year-old North African killed by the police appealed for an end to the violence in an interview with French media.

While in the streets of Lyon there were demonstrations of right-wing radicals who demand the expulsion of all foreigners.
