For the first time in 30 years, Russia will not hold the international air show, known as MAKS, which was usually held between July 25 and 30.
"Sky News" reports that there are 3 reasons that forced Vladimir Putin to cancel an important event for Russia.
First, many international delegations would refuse to participate in this event because of the war in Ukraine. Second, security in Moscow and beyond would be seriously questioned, at least after the recent events of the Wagner mercenary group. Meanwhile, the third reason has to do with the huge losses suffered by the Russian aerospace industry.
Additionally, the head of the Russian Air Force, General Sergei Surovikin, has not been seen since Yevgeny Prigozhin's failed coup attempt last weekend.
