Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Thursday that he had had a "good and substantive" telephone conversation with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro regarding improving relations between the two countries.
In a post on his Instagram account, Vucic called Maduro a "great friend" of Serbia and thanked him for his attitude towards Kosovo.
"Serbia greatly appreciates Venezuela's principled and sustained support in terms of preserving our territorial integrity and not recognizing the unilateral declaration of Kosovo's independence," Vucic emphasized.
Vucic's phone call with Maduro comes at a time when the Venezuelan dictator has been described as one of the biggest enemies of the US, as US President Donald Trump accuses him of being a supporter of the drug cartels that have flooded the US with deadly drugs.
The US recently increased the reward for Maduro's arrest to $50 million, while yesterday it was reported that a series of US warships have been launched off the coast of Venezuela, ready to strike drug cartels, declared as terrorist organizations by the Trump administration.
