Hungary's Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, has publicly accused Brussels and the American opposition of political interference in Central European countries.
In a statement made to the media, Szijjarto said that a coordination center located in Brussels, with the help of American Democrats, is trying to overthrow the governments of three countries: Hungary, Serbia and Slovakia.
"The coordination center of these efforts to overthrow governments is located in Brussels, and the failed American left, the American Democrats, also participates in this operation," he declared.
The head of Hungarian diplomacy emphasized that the objective of these efforts are three political leaders who, according to him, protect the national interests of their countries even when they contradict Brussels' policies: the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.
"They openly support patriotic politics. Everyone understands that all three are facing open attempts to overthrow their foreign-dictated governments. These efforts are ongoing," he said.
Szijjarto also spoke about the protests that are taking place in Serbia, which started after a tragic incident in Novi Sad. According to him, the purpose of the protests is to overthrow President Vucic.
"An open external intervention is taking place with the aim of overthrowing President Vucic and removing him from public and political life," he emphasized.
The Hungarian minister also criticized Western leaders for, as he said, involvement in the internal affairs of other states: "I don't know why in Western Europe today governments, serious politicians and elected leaders consider it important to devote part of their time and energy to evaluating the processes that take place in other countries. Everyone should first deal with their own affairs, concentrate on their own backyard."
