The Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) prison in Brooklyn, New York, is home to some of the most famous and talked-about names in the world, according to a CNN chart listing the "VIP" prisoners held at the federal institution.
At the top of the list is Nicolas Maduro, marked as "current", housed in the same prison with well-known global figures from organized crime, the music industry, finance and politics.

The graphic depicts MDC Brooklyn as a stopping point for figures with extraordinary international influence.
The list includes names such as Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, the former head of the Sinaloa cartel, R. Kelly, the singer convicted of sex crimes, Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, as well as Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted of sex trafficking in connection with the Epstein case.
The chart also includes Martin Shkreli, a former pharmaceutical executive known for financial scandals, as well as Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former personal lawyer.

Other well-known public figures also appear in the same graphic, putting MDC Brooklyn in the spotlight as a prison that has housed an unusual combination of political leaders, high-profile criminals, and individuals convicted in cases that have shocked international public opinion.
