US media: Ukraine accepts Donald Trump's peace plan
Volodymyr Zelensky

Ukraine has agreed to the peace proposal of the Donald Trump administration, a US government source told the media.

"According to the US official, the Ukrainians have accepted the peace agreement. There are some small details that need to be worked out, but in essence there is an agreement," the statement said.

"Late Monday and throughout Tuesday, Secretary Driscoll and his team held talks with the Russian delegation on achieving a lasting peace in Ukraine," Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Tolbert, a US military spokesman, said Tuesday.

"Negotiations are progressing and we remain optimistic. Secretary Driscoll is in close contact with the White House and US agencies as the process continues," he added.

This development comes at a time when US representatives are in Abu Dhabi for a new round of talks with the Russian delegation. However, officially, neither Kiev nor Moscow have confirmed that their officials are in Abu Dhabi.
