Two days after the end of Vjosa Osmani's mandate as president, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti begins meetings with the heads of political parties today.

The Prime Minister has 23 days to elect a new president or else the country will head towards new local elections.

Today, Kurti will host a meeting at the Parliament building at 11:00 with the president and vice president of the Democratic Movement of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhika and Lufti Haziri.

Kosovo remains in a stalemate over the election of a head of state after the Assembly failed to elect one within the constitutional deadline. The current president is the Speaker of Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu.
