The eldest daughter of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, killed in a US airstrike in 2020, was living a life of luxury in Los Angeles before her arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Friday.
Sarinasadat Hosseiny, 25, and her mother, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, were arrested after the State Department terminated their permanent resident status and revoked their green cards due to their ties to the Iranian terrorist regime, the agency announced Saturday.
However, the general's daughter, Zeinab Soleimani, later responded by saying they had nothing to do with the arrest.
"The people arrested in the United States have no connection to the family of martyr Soleimani, and the State Department's statement is a lie. They have become so weak and powerless that, by inventing lies against a great figure like Hajji Qassem, they are trying to divert the attention of world public opinion from their defeat in the face of the Iranian nation," she said in a statement.
25-year-old Sarinasadat Hosseiny's social media accounts show she enjoyed an expensive lifestyle, with luxury vacations, while living in the country her mother called "The Great Satan."
Hosseiny has shared photos of traveling on private jets, vacationing on expensive yachts or attending music festivals, without giving any signs of any steady work.
Instagram posts show that Hosseiny recently traveled to Miami, Alaska, and Las Vegas, where he attended an F-1 race.
She is shown wearing tight dresses, bikinis and short skirts. In another photo, she is shown in fishnet tights and a miniskirt, clothing that would not be allowed in Iran.
Hosseiny was first admitted to the US on a student visa in 2015 and the Biden administration granted him a green card in 2023.
Both Afshar and Hosseiny were arrested in Los Angeles, said the State Department, which cited the mother's "unwavering support" for Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
