The two leaders declared that the country needs a consensual president.

The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, after a two-hour meeting with the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, spoke about a possible agreement with the opposition.

Kurti stated that there are efforts to reach an agreement. He said that the meeting with LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku went positively.

"We will meet with the leadership of the Democratic League of Kosovo, headed by Lumir Abdixhiku as chairman, and we will see how we can move forward together to constitute the institutions of the 11th legislature, of course with good faith and a positive atmosphere ," Kurti told the media.

Kurti also spoke about the president of Kosovo.

"We have talked about who and what figure will be the head of state. I cannot say specific names. But we are for a consensual president ," Kurti said.

LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku also confirmed that he is willing to reach an agreement.

"There is a will to reach an agreement. For the president, we want a consensual figure, who truly deserves to be in that position. We can come up with concrete names at the next meeting. For a specific name, we need time. LDK does not ask for anything, it only asks for state stability, so that Kosovo has the peace that has been sought for so long.

"In the next meetings we will come up with some names and in the end there will definitely be a name. There must be political agreement. We are talking about concrete names, where we will arrive at that name. What is important is that there is a will to have a solution for Kosovo ," Abdixhiku said.
