Supreme Leader Condemns US Threats to Return Iran to the “Stone Age”

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a statement condemning the US and Israel for their continued attacks on civilian infrastructure in Iran, saying that "the enemies are carelessly saying they want to return Iran to the Stone Age" with their attacks.

"The US-Israeli attacks on Iranian bridges, power plants, schools and other facilities 'are an expression of a crime against humanity committed by the US government and the murderous Israeli regime,'" he said in a statement distributed by Iranian media.

"It is regrettable that they increase the noise of war, threats and destruction every day, while international institutions remain silent and indifferent, and perhaps even complicit in the aggression, becoming partners in igniting this fire."

Tehran has also rejected a proposal for a 45-day ceasefire with the US and Israel, brokered by Pakistan.

In a post on social media, Khamenei said that pressure and threats will not stop Iran.

"The murderers will not stop the Iranian army," wrote Mojtaba Khamenei, referring to the US and Israel.

The rejection of the ceasefire demonstrates Iran's strong stance against accepting temporary solutions, while tensions in the region remain high.
