The son of former President Hashim Thaçi, Endrit Thaçi, has visited his father in The Hague, where he has been held in detention for more than five years.

Through a post on social media, Endriti expressed optimism that his father, along with his friends, will soon be released from the facility where they are being held in detention.

"Optimistic. Counting the days when dad and his friends will come out of this facility. The sun will rise again," he wrote, attaching a thumbs up emoji, just like former President Thaçi always did.
