Cuba has purchased more than 300 military drones and, according to Axios reports , has begun discussions about using them in potential attacks on American targets.
The information, based on classified US intelligence data, includes as targets the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, US military ships and possibly even the island of Key West in Florida, about 144 kilometres from Havana.
A senior US official, quoted by Axios, has stated that this data could be used as a reason for military action by the US and shows that Washington considers Cuba a growing threat.
This is related to developments in the field of drone warfare and the presence of Iranian military advisors in Havana.
Meanwhile, Reuters has stressed that it has not been able to independently confirm the report published by Axios, leaving open questions about the reliability of the information.
