'Do you see the plane...? Oh my God', Washington plane crash,

The final communications between tower controllers and the pilots of a military helicopter and a passenger plane have been released, just seconds before the collision between the two aircraft, which caused an air tragedy at Washington's Ronald Reagan Airport today (January 30).

Before the American Airlines plane crashed and fell into the Potomac River, splitting in two amid flames, audio conversations were also recorded from communications between air traffic controllers, pilots and rescue teams.

In audio broadcast by CNN, an air traffic controller can be heard asking the helicopter operator if he can see the passenger plane.

"PAT 2-5 do you see the CRJ in front of you? PAT 2-5 is passing behind the CRJ," the controller says, immediately followed by slurred speech and a loud "Uhhh" and another "Oh my God...", probably at the moment of the plane's collision with the helicopter.

The control tower's next move was to inform the pilot of another flight about what had happened:

"I don't know if you've heard, but there has been a collision at the end of runway 3-3. We will be closed for an unknown period," the tower communicates.

" Yes, we were near the airport and saw sparks from across the Potomac ," said another pilot.
