US State Department declares two senior Montenegrin officials "persona non

The US State Department has publicly declared former Budva mayor and MP Milo Božović and former President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, Vesna Medenica, ineligible to enter the United States due to their involvement in serious corruption that facilitated drug trafficking.

Božović abused his public positions to support organized crime and international drug trafficking operations. Meanwhile, Medenica abused her position to support a criminal smuggling organization, distributing judicial information, mediating court decisions, and accepting bribes to manipulate the outcome of trials in exchange for money and property.

These decisions reaffirm the United States' commitment to combating illicit drug trafficking, transnational criminal organizations, and corruption that threaten U.S. national security interests in the Western Balkans and beyond.

In addition to Božović and Medenica, the State Department has also declared their immediate family members: Dragana Božović, Balša Božović, and Pavle Božović, as well as Milos Medenica and Marija Medenica, ineligible for entry into the US.
