Trump's STRONG statement: Ground attacks on Venezuela will begin soon
Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump warned of ground attacks against drug traffickers in Venezuela and other regions. The warnings came as Trump spoke to reporters at the White House.

"Ground attacks will start happening. We eliminated 96% of the drugs that were coming in by sea. Now we're starting from land, land is much easier. That will start happening," he said.

When asked if there was anything the country could do to prevent possible ground attacks, Trump replied that he "wouldn't say that."

"I don't want to say this, but these are not just ground attacks on Venezuela, but ground attacks on the terrible people who import drugs and kill our people," the US president added.

Trump has repeated many times in recent weeks that he is considering carrying out such attacks, threatening immediate action against drug trafficking networks through roads and border crossings.

The US president was also asked if the US planned to seize more of Venezuela's oil assets, but he avoided answering.

"It wouldn't be very smart of me to tell you that," he said.
